About us

Who we are

We are a family of ordinary people from all over London who have experienced an extraordinary God. We have seen Him work in our lives and in those of people we know. He works and His love is enduring and we want to share that with others.

Where we come from

WVfC started in 1969 when our Founder and lead Pastor, Albert Chambers left his small home town in Northern Ireland, following a call from God to move to London. Starting with only a handful of workers, and conducting the ministry from an ‘office’ in the front room of a house in East London, World Vision for Christ grew into an active ministry and now has assemblies in both London and Birmingham.

Where we’re heading

At WVfC, we want to see positive change. Change in people’s lives. Changes in their circumstances. Change in our local communities. We aim to be a positive force for change by using all the Word of God for all people. We traditionally use the phrase, “Bringing the delivering power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Earth’s neglected multitudes…” We believe that sums up the original ethos of the work we do.

What does that mean for you?

Well, know that you’re always welcome at any of our assemblies. There’s a seat waiting for you. Whatever you’re facing, God wants you to meet with Him and He wants to help you, to let you know He loves you, and that will never change.
