Caribbean Night

We will host a fund-raising Caribbean Night at our main assembly, Paragon Chapel

It will be a night of Food, Fellowship and Fun! The proceeds will go towards our day-school and building. Please contact us for tickets.

Adults: £10
Children (upto 14ys old): £5
Family £30 (2 adults & upto 3 children)

If you are unable to attend, but would still like to donate to World Vision for Christ, please contact the office and we will be glad to hear from you.

Easter Convention 2010

Based on the novel Faith Like Potatoes, this inspiring film tells the story of Angus Buchan, a South African farmer who suffers a series of seemingly insurmountable losses, but through an unlikely friendship with his Zulu farmhand and divine interventions, discovers the key to healing himself and learning to accept others lies in his unwavering belief in the power of faith.

Christmas Schedule 2009

Well, it’s that time again! Christmas is already around the corner… Once again we have our end of year festivities at Paragon Chapel in Hackney.

Our school, Paragon Christian Academy, will perform their Christmas Performance for us. Attending is a great way to show your support for both the children and for the work that the staff and ministry are achieving in working with these young lives.

The PCA Christmas Presentation will take place at 7pm on Saturday the 12th of December. Free Admission.

We will also have our Annual Christmas Banquet at Paragon Chapel. A great way to catch up with friends and make new ones.

Christmas banquet will take place on Saturday 19th December at 7.30pm. There will be a minimal charge of £5 to cover expenses.

Attract Attention; Impart Information; Impel Action

On the 20th July a fleet of minibuses and cars left East London for the beauty of the New Forest, Hampshire; a far cry from the busy streets of the metropolis. Our goal being the Annual Bible Conference of World Vision for Christ’. Housed in four large Norwegian-style log cabins (Lodges) deep in the New Forest, was an experience in itself. We were all looking forward to a time of blessing and to ‘hearing from heaven’ – learning the mind of the Lord regarding our own lives and that of the life of our Fellowship. The delegates came from many different countries; England (including Yorkshire!), Ireland, N & S., France, Ghana, The Philippines, China, Bolivia, Jamaica, and several other W.I. islands.

Dr. Albert Chambers challenged us night by night in his studies of the Word; taking as his theme the state of the church in general in our land, revealing the obvious need for Revival. Each time he aimed at the following: To Attract Attention… To Impart Information… To Impel Action.

He very adequately fulfilled his mission in the first two areas, but of course in the latter – that is up to us! It is only on our return to church and family life that CHANGE will be seen. Even as the Bible exhorts, we must be doers of the Word and not hearers only; we certainly ‘heard the Word’ but now we must translate it into our individual lives, which in turn will affect our Fellowship, and if we follow on as he has taught us, change will come. May God grant that it be so.

PCA Presentation ‘09 – A Success!

The PCA Presentation and Graduation night on 27th June was a great success. We saw six of our older student graduating from our day-school and going straight into University and Sixth Form Colleges, studying topics ranging from Nursing to Computer Graphics. These six add to our growing list of graduated students that have been placed straight into universities and other higher educational establishments.

We ought to pray for our graduating students, that they will be able to face the challenges set before them, in further study, the work place and life in general. That God will protect them, and that those students will not forget Him that watches over them.

We also saw some of our youngest students graduate from the ABC’s into regular classes, having learned to read and write. And they got their own separate ceremony to encourage them to do their best in the coming years.

Ex Con Armstrong Cane (Ving Rhames) returns to home a changed man looking to take over his father’s old church and congregation. The neighborhood though is full of drugs and gangs.

Those who are able are leaving for more prosperous areas and falling in with a slick preacher (Ricardo Chivara). Even with a dangerous gang leader (Dean McDermott) threatening his flock, Armstrong won’t give up.

Tough as nails on the outside and inside, Armstrong shouts God’s word to whoever will listen – especially Norris – a youth on the verge of falling into a lifetime of bad choices. They form a close bond and Norris strives to change, but will the sins of the past come back to haunt them?
