The Ultimate Authority
“And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” The significant words being “after his kind.” Of course these words are found in the Book of Genesis from the King James Version of the Holy Bible. Genesis, of course, being the Book of Beginnings. It is always good to get ‘back to the beginning’, to the original.
I don’t know how ‘au fait’ you are with current events, but it would be very difficult to miss the debates that took place, in Parliament, this week. Significantly the embryo & hybrid debate, where human eggs will be mixed with animal. Of course I’m using the most simplistic of terms, but this is the bottom line! As for debate, there shouldn’t be one – God said to bring forth “after his kind.” That is the law God put in place, that is what is in every living thing, to bring forth “after his kind.” However man seems to think he knows better than God. What a dangerous path to walk. God is Sovereign and it is He that has the final say. In the days of Noah we read, again in Genesis, “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
Is this not a similar picture of man today. “And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.” How sad, the pinnacle of God’s creation was now so far removed from the laws and mercy of God. But I am afraid that this generation is almost in the same position. And yet we are without excuse! As man’s knowledge to do evil has increased, so has the ability to spread the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And Christians have used modern means to spread this Good News. This generation is without excuse.
In Noah’s day God sent the flood, and only Noah and his family were saved. God said: “ … neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.” ”And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth.” So that is God’s promise, that He will not send a flood over the whole earth, like in the time of Noah. However, there is a consequence to all the evil that man is continually doing. Man may think he is ‘getting away’ with completely disregarding the laws God has put in place, but it is only because God is merciful and not willing that any should perish, that gives this impression.
Just in the time of Noah God will one day say ‘enough is enough’!
As Christians we should be encouraged to know that God knows His business and He will not do anything without first revealing it to His prophets. As for me I will continue to serve the Lord, because I know that one day He will return for His people and however long the Lord gives me on this earth, it will not compare with eternity or the wonderful things God has in store for me when I reach my Heavenly home.
For any of you who read this ‘blog’ and know Jesus as your personal Saviour and Friend, keep looking up, for your Redemption draws nigh, and soon “The Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together, with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall be ever be with the Lord; Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” And I say “even so come quickly Lord Jesus”!
